Building Public Goods Together

We are an innovative intermediary between founders and specific teams in the digital public good space, dedicated to proactively fostering the growth and development of innovative projects, groundbreaking research, and robust infrastructure that benefit the digital public good. At Arcological Swiss Association, our mission is to serve as a connective thread, streamlining funding processes and enhancing transparency, decentralization, accountability, and alignment. Our agile approach involves sourcing and supporting promising initiatives based on the specific objectives that our forward-thinking funders are interested in promoting. Whether it's providing comprehensive support for groundbreaking concepts and theses or targeted funding for pioneering teams, we are here to facilitate connections and drive impactful initiatives. This innovative model allows us to efficiently direct resources towards projects that align with our funders' visionary goals and contribute significantly to the advancement of the public good. With our optimized setup, we ensure a faster and more efficient funding process, enabling us to swiftly support and propel initiatives in the digital public good space.

About the Arcological Swiss Association

Arcological facilitates and serves as an innovative intermediary for the allocation of undiluted capital towards teams in the digital public goods sphere. Our efforts are focused on facilitating and supporting sizable, specialist-led public goods initiatives that revolve around established digital ecosystems. Each initiative is backed by a dedicated "Network Capital Pool" with a significant funding capacity ($1M+). Arcological ensures effective resource distribution, focusing on long-term impact, and providing continuous support to funded projects while addressing operational and adoption concerns. Our setup allows for innovation and faster decision-making, enabling us to effectively address operational and adoption concerns. It is important to note that Arcological does not impose its own thesis but rather acts as a facilitator, diligently executing the strategies put forth by our visionary funders.

Trust is key.

Arcological builds relationships with aligned partners (e.g. blockchain foundations and organizations like Gitcoin, ETH Foundation) to expand the impact of our digital public goods efforts. Arcological is focusing on scaling communities by scaling the public goods which they thrive on, educating and empowering them via transparency to make their best work using our partner's technology.

IPFS Network Capital Pool

The IPFS Implementations Network Capital Pool is leading the transformation of IPFS by shifting from reliance on a single primary implementation to multiple, diverse implementations that cater to various creators, developers, and audiences. By expanding beyond existing use cases, IPFS can better serve the growing needs of the Web3 ecosystem. This pool aims to accelerate the development of innovative IPFS implementations, opening up new adoption channels and supporting cutting-edge projects. Additionally, it ensures continued backing for high-impact teams working on current IPFS implementations, enabling them to build and grow their initiatives.

Private Retrieval Network Capital Pool

The Private Retrieval Network Capital Pool seeks to explore and develop viable mechanisms for reader-private communications (for application on libp2p, IPFS and beyond): we intend to fund both research leading to deployment-ready design sketches for private communication mechanisms as well as development activities implementing systems prototypes.

We are interested in funding projects which:

Explore new mechanisms for private communication (e.g. with cryptographic, information theoretic, or statistical bases) Relax the traditional ‘web’ assumptions of a single origin to engage with the possibilities of pre-distributed CDN or content-addressed data. Prototype the use of novel network-layer privacy technologies in real systems.

Set up your Own Network Capital Pool? Join the Arcological Community!

If you have a groundbreaking project or innovative concept that aligns with our mission, we invite you to explore creating your own network capital pool within our ecosystem. By joining the Arcological community, you can access our expertise, resources, and network to accelerate the development and impact of your project. Together, we can drive transformative change in the digital economy. Get in touch with us to discuss how we can support your vision and turn it into a reality.
